Local Background/Summary
The Microsoft Ventures Accelerator in India is hosted in the heart
of Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India. Apart from the
state-of-the-art workspace and access to Microsoft technology and
technology mentors, each batch of startup goes through a rigorous,
intense and structured 4-month program. Microsoft and industry mentors
provide them with hands-on expertise in key areas they need help on
most--technology architecture, user experience/design, product roadmap,
business model development and connections with early adopters. Each
startup pursues three tracks simultaneously – customer development,
product development and deepening market traction. The Accelerator
program team tracks their progress every week, and shares the report
with mentors who provide them valuable feedback.
The Bangalore Accelerator can comfortably seat 15 teams of three to four members each. The work environment and infrastructure is designed to promote collaboration, networking, opportunity to learn from each other, while being highly productive. Moreover, Bangalore being the Silicon Valley of India, it has a huge community entrepreneurial community--thereby allowing startups easy access to mentors, investors and serial entrepreneurs.

Application Status
Applications for the fourth batch will open from October 1, 2013,
and close November 15, 2013. Shortlisted companies will be informed by
November 25, and they will be invited for a face-to-face session with a
jury panel on December 13, 2013. Final shortlisted applicants, who make
it to the fourth batch, will be informed by December 20, 2013, and the
batch will start on January 22, 2014.

Ravi is responsible for Microsoft Ventures Accelerator in India. He
joined Microsoft recently from Mentor Partners, a Seed Fund based in
Bangalore. Ravi has been an entrepreneur, mentor and investor most of
his career. He is an alumnus of IIT Madras and an MBA from the

industry forums as well as Microsoft customers and partners in India. He
is a seasoned biz app professional with over 17 years’ experience in
enterprise, SI, ISV & startup space across multiple verticals.
Rajinish is a qualified chartered accountant with other master’s degrees
in commerce and taxation.
